Canada Day!

Today is the 141st “birthday” of Canada, and our very first experience of it. Sadly, we didn’t take part in any of the festivities, such as a parade at the riverside. Nope, we were very selfish and used the holiday to shop for more household stuff that we still needed.

We tried to buy a TV, but the model we wanted was out of stock. Shucks, DH is quite frustrated about this. He has bad eyesight and has had to squint to see the image on our tiny borrowed TV. Don’t worry, hon, we’ll get that TV soon!

So instead, we bought a new bike for Paula. Since we don’t have a car and driver’s licenses yet, we decided to get mobile by getting everybody bikes. And lo and behold, Paula just suddenly learned how to ride the two-wheeler! I remember how it took me several summers of riding a bike with my nanny running behind me before I finally learned.

I did learn one thing today - never leave a chocolate cake unattended on the table when there’s a toddler toddling around, because this will happen:
