Chocolate Chip Cookies

Isay and Paula must be bored. Today they baked chocolate chip cookies, all by themselves. They measured and mixed and scooped. The only thing I did was to take the trays out of the oven. The results?

Delicious!

Anton must have eaten a dozen of them. I was so busy all afternoon that I couldn’t keep my eye on him. The next thing I knew, he had chocolate all over his face, shirt and hands. Good thing it was a whole-grain, no-refined-sugar recipe — except that we used real chocolate chip cookies instead of malt-sweetened carob chips.

I would love it if the girls could bake by themselves already. I bake about 3 times a week, so if they can take over, it would be a big help for me.

But they shouldn’t make this recipe again. It doesn’t last. The 2 1/2 dozen cookies are almost all gone.
