Sewing Day

We stayed home today, except to hear Mass at 6 pm, and I got some sewing done.

I finally finished the table napkins that I cut out weeks ago. The picture is crappy because I took it at night with artificial lights on:

I decided to use table napkins instead of paper towels so we can reduce our trash. Besides, cloth table napkins are so much prettier and more luxurious! I’ve got so much more fabric to make into napkins but I get bored easily with cutting and sewing straight lines.

I also finally, finally made more breastfeeding shirts out of plain T-shirts I bought in Michael’s for $3.50. Inspired by Megan Nicolay’s Generation T: 108 Ways to Transform a T-shirt, I cut up the shirts and now I have 3 new breastfeeding T-shirts to wear around the house.

Of course, Paula had to have a reconstructed T-shirt too. She picked the Greek goddess-style T-shirt. Oh, I made so many mistakes with that shirt and had to finally use the sewing machine, which was completely uncooperative. But I finally figured it out, and the mistakes led to design adjustments that turned out to be cute.

No pictures yet, because we rushed to church and then there was just no more time. Plus, Paula’s T-shirt already has chocolate stains. Will definitely post pics soon!
