Siopao in Windsor and Pizza Dough From Scratch

Bobby picked these up from the Oriental Store and requested them for breakfast this morning. No, it’s not a hidden mickey — it’s siopao! Asado, to be exact.

And today I finally mustered enough courage to make pizza dough from scratch. Well, I was sort of forced to do it because I couldn’t find frozen pizza dough in the grocery last week. It was much easier and more fun than I expected. The hardest part was wondering if the yeast would proof. I needn’t have worried; this is what my yeast mixture looked like after about 7 minutes:Foamy Yeast Mixture

After I mixed it with the flours and some olive oil and then kneaded it for about 5 minutes, it became a lovely ball of dough.

I knead it again, divide it into two balls, and Paula helps me roll them into pizzas.

Anton needed some attention, so Isay put most of the toppings on. While the pizzas were baking, they smelled heavenly! And here are the final results:
